Don 2: The King is Back is a 2011 Indian action heist film directed by Farhan Akhtar. It is a sequel to the 2006 film, Don: The Chase Begins Again. The film stars Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles while Om Puri, Lara Dutta and Kunal Kapoor play supporting characters. Don 2 was filmed in India, Germany, Malaysia and Switzerland. The plot of the film continues from the end of the first film, starting in Malaysia and moving to Europe. The release and marketing of the film was carried out on 23 December 2011 by Reliance Entertainment, in both 2D and 3D formats. The film marks Farhan Akhtar's return to direction after a gap of nearly 5 years. It also marks Khan's return to playing villainous characters.Don 2 is the first sequel in Khan's two-decade long career.
